The Meaning of Trading Hours
During trading hours, orders placed by investors are continuously matched and executed through the exchange (known as "zaraba" trading). Outside of this time period, regular trading through the exchange is not possible, although some securities firms accommodate after-hours trading using a PTS (proprietary trading system).
